Hello?
Hey, my name is Sparx the Cy-wolf.
Somebody recommended me to this site because it would be useful for trading tips and tricks in GMaker, general chatting, etc.
To be honest I haven't the faintest idea how the H*** I'm supposed to use this site.
But anyway, I'm here, I'm in it, talk to me!

Re: Introduce Yourself
I found a topic for this site on Game Maker Games, and wrote a long critical post on why this site is doomed to fail like all the others and how that might be prevented. Once I was done with my diarrhea of the mouth err... Keyboard...? I thought, "what the heck," and joined anyway. I'd consider myself average, although with all the new members finding Game Maker now, I'd say somewhere between average and advanced. I've been using Game Maker since 2006, I believe, but I had been into game design a few years before that using Microsoft Visual Basic. I can write code, I can sprite, I write music, and just about anything else expected from a dev team. The reason I spread myself out so much is because I really think I work best alone; that gives me the ability to work at my own pace. Anywho, I'll post an example of my work later in the form of an advertisement for my current project, at which point you may all feel free to stand in silent awe of my brilliance.
(In case none of you can pick up on my sarcasm, there is sarcasm somewhere in this post. Find it, and you may have a web-cookie. I am not liable for any trauma to the brain, or otherwise the mental state of the reader. Side effects may include drooling, disgust towards the original poster, or overuse of the word, "uh" in conversation. Conditions apply, results may vary.)

Re: Introduce Yourself
I'm pretty much average myself, sort of, I can use a bit of code in Gamemaker but most of it is the drag and drop thing.

I was exaggerating for comedic effect, did you read my fine print?
Also, I've seen GM communities do well at the start before, but that usually wanes over the next month or two. Granted, this is doing better than the majority of the ones I've seen, but it could do with a bit more work. I dunno, maybe I don't have a clue what I'm talking about. I could provide you with some links to the type of GM communities I'm talking about if you want, but most of them are 404 pages at this point.

Your not wrong, sites like these do take time to build up about a year from now loads of people will swarming all over this place.
And this is coming from someone who dosen't know much about these places!
By the way Zero, as much as I wuld love to spend about three hours looking at over peoples conversations, I'll think I'll sit it out if you don't mind!
Re: Introduce Yourself
Well think about it, this site attracts about, as you say, three people per day.
But how exactly do they manage to get interested here in the first place?

Re: Introduce Yourself
we tell people to spread the word. i advertise all of its features on different sites. so i guess, when GM users see this, they go! look, this is cool, ill signup!"
Re: Introduce Yourself

Re: Introduce Yourself
no. insert this code(with no spaces in the [ img] and [ /img])
the code is
[ img]https://2img.net/h/i697.photobucket.com/albums/vv333/CarnivorousA/gameml.jpg[ /img]
(with no spaces)
so without spaces it looks like
