GM8-Why is it better?

So exactly what new features is GM8 gonna have that makes it SO much better. Put that here and also what you are excited for in GM8.

Well i think that the new sprite thing (I dont know what its called so I call it a thing) will open up new ways of designing sprites.

The images have transparency settings, so you can make stuff fade and do anything with it. Kinda ruins the purpose if particles though (never used particles so I don't really know). And theres going to be heaps of sprites and sounds coming with it.

Yea the best thing about GM8 is it's transparent sprites, the new image editor, the new script editor (which is kinda wierd but will be good in the long run) and ability to have bigger icons.

I'm genuinly excited about that. I have tons of Metroid Icons which won't work with GM and I have tried, but GM would no take any of the icons that I made either.

Other than that, I guess It's not a HUGE deal, but the new sprite editor seems interesting enough.

You know you could always change you icon sizes. The photo editing program "Paint.NET" has a plug-in that lets you make your own icons and let it have multiple sizes. I guess it doesnt matter anymore but it's still a very nice program and plug-in.

not getting gm8

I've bought GM7 Pro recently so I can get GM8 for free. It will take some getting used to but essensially it has not change (non-sprite-wise).

You can make console games with Gm8. Someone at an interview said that. One of gm's programmers.

What you mean console games?

For ps2, xbox, ps3, wii.... those

I wouldn't get my hopes up for video game consoles. Maybe they ment like computer consoles. But it would be very cool. I think making games on phones would be more likely though. That article was written in March 2008 so we dont know if they still intend on doing those things anymore.
