wait what? in order to move with left button you do
keyboard_check(vk_left) and u did with the button A wrong

i mean, how do i say, if the letter a is pressed, do the same thing as if the left key is pressed

Well im not sure if this is exactly what u need but heres wat u can do.
Copy what command you have for the left key and set it in the "a" key.
So if pressing left makes guy go (x0,y-3) then just copy that so that pressing "a" makes guy go (x0, y-3)

do it so when u press left and it sets variable movea to 1 and when its released it sets it to 0. and when you press a it sets movea to 1 and when released it sets to 0. under step when movea=1 move left. OR you could just do it for left, and then right click on the selection keyboard left, and duplicate it for keyboard right.
