Carny we're going to need more info than that, what game is it, what was the object, what was this action actually for,etc , etc.....

Re: Umm could someone help me?
Oh god, I used to get this problem all the time and it always bugged me cause I didn't know what it means. But now I do.
All this means is that you named something "speed" "=" or "4" maybe even " "
It could be a sound, sprite, object, room, ect.

Re: Umm could someone help me?
What do you mean "all the time"?
What did you do to the program to make it keep doing it in first place?

Re: Umm could someone help me?
If you have a variable with the same name as a rescource, or two rescources with the same name. Then that error occurs

Re: Umm could someone help me?
Well i haven't named anything speed, = or 4. The part with that is like this.
if speed >= 4
{
speed = 4
}
It worked until I added another variable on the same object called "followers"
if speed >= 4
{
speed = 4
}
It worked until I added another variable on the same object called "followers"
Re: Umm could someone help me?
Assuming that the object "followers" also has the speed variable, try this
if speed.player >=4
{
speed.player=4
}
Might work
if speed.player >=4
{
speed.player=4
}
Might work
Re: Umm could someone help me?
what if you tried "declaring" the name of the object, that way the computer knows exactly what it's called.
Re: Umm could someone help me?
Ok, found the problem, I called a constant speed, and yeah, they're too out of the way to really notice much.
